CLUB ACTIVITY AT GUERIN PREP

AMBASSADORS
There are more than 60 student Guerin Prep Ambassadors. Students ambassadors must be sophomores, juniors or seniors and must meet several requirements in order to be considered for membership.
Requirements include: A minimum 2.0 grade point average, upholding school policies and procedures and maintaining a good attendance record. Students must also display school spirit, good communication and leadership skills. All ambassador candidates must submit a formal application, two teacher recommendation forms and undergo an individual interview if requested by Mrs. Valerie Reiss, director of admissions at Guerin Prep who serves as moderator.
Ambassadors are responsible for fulfilling the following duties:
+ Escorting visiting families on open house tours.
+ Hosting visiting students on shadow “Gator” days.
+ Assisting faculty at the “Getaway to Guerin” and Entrance Exam.
+ Attending all ambassador meetings.
+ Representing Guerin Prep High School (along with the Recruiter) at various grade school day/night visits.
+ Placing (supervised) reminder phone calls to potential students prior to miscellaneous Guerin Prep events.
Ambassadors who complete the school year in good standing will receive documentation of their participation on their high school life card and transcript.
This is not a traditional club, there are no officers, no fundraising, etc… These are our best students representing Guerin Prep to the community, offering their service and displaying leadership skills.

CERCLE FRANCAIS
Cercle Francais, otherwise known as the French Club, seeks to promote awareness and appreciation of France and its culture, the culture of the school’s foundress Mother Theodore Guerin.
By sharing activities with the whole school, the French Club engages Guerin Prep in celebrations like Mardi Gras, National French Week and St. Nicholas Day. The club introduces the school to French cuisine, music and holidays. Members help sponsor French Honor Society and maintain a photo-journal friendship with Kundara Mission School in French West Africa.
The leadership of French club rotates among members; they form a leadership core, rather than individually named officers. Mrs. Marilyn Hejnosz, French teacher, serves as moderator.
French Club is a great way to meet other people who love French. It's a way to show what you know about France and its importance in the world. It's a fun way to be involved in a club and class, which support each other. It's a long-standing tradition at Guerin!

National Honor Society
The National Honor Society is a national organization that recognizes juniors and seniors for outstanding scholarship, leadership, service and character. Each year, in the spring, outstanding sophomores and juniors who have maintained excellent grades are invited to apply for membership.

NHS sponsors an annual Life Source Blood Drive. Students who are 17 and older can participate; students who are sixteen may participate only with parental permission.
