Mrs. Elizabeth "Bonnie" Brown, Principal

Mrs. Brown brings a rich background in Catholic education to her position as principal, having taught every grade from Kindergarten to college level courses during her teaching years.  

She joined Guerin High School as an assistant principal in 2000.  She became the principal two years later.  She spent 25 years teaching high school theology, seven of those years as a campus minister. Currently she is an adjunct professor at St. Mary’s University, Winona, Minn.   
Mrs. Brown holds an M.A. in Educational Administration from Northeastern Illinois University and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University.  She earned her B.A. in theology, history and education from Immaculata College, Immaculata, Penn.  

Mrs. Brown is a member of the National Catholic Educators Association, the National Association of Secondary School Principals and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.  In 1999, she received the Secondary Teacher Award for Outstanding Contributions to Catholic Education from NCEA.

Sister Dawn Tomaszewski,SP, Director of Advancement

A graduate of Guerin High School, Sister Dawn joined the staff at Guerin Prep in August 2004 as the director of communications and public relations.  She joined the administration of the school as director of institutional advancement with the beginning of the 2005-2006 school year.

On two different occasions, Sister Dawn taught theology and English at Guerin.  Just prior to coming to Guerin, she served as the director of communications, public relations and marketing for the Office of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Chicago.  She also was the director of congregational advancement for 12 years for the Sisters of Providence.   

Sister Dawn holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in theology from the Catholic Theological Union.  She earned a B.A. in journalism from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

Dr. Adam Paikai, Assistant Principal for Academics

Dr. Paikai joined the staff in 2005 as the assistant principal for academics after a 25-year career as a public school administrator.  Dr. Paikai’s most recent position was as assistant principal for Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora, a position he held since 1997.

His career in education actually began as a social studies teacher at Brother Rice High School, Chicago.  He went on to earn an MSW in school social work and was engaged as a social worker for eight years, before launching his career as an administrator in public schools.  He has served as principal for two different middle schools in addition to assistant principal duties at Waubonsie Valley High School, first from 1987-1992, and more recently from 1997-2005.

Dr. Paikai also holds an Ed.D. in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University.

Jack Eichstaedt, Dean of Students

Mr. Eichstaedt became the dean of students at Guerin for the 2004-2005 school year after 30+ years of experience at neighboring Holy Cross High School.  Mr. Eichstaedt joined the staff there in 1972 as a social studies teacher.  He became the dean in 1980, a position he held for five years before becoming a counselor and eventually the head of the guidance department.  During this time he also served as dean.
  

He has a bachelor's degree in education and social studies from DePaul University.  He also has two master's degrees from Northeastern Illinois University; one in history, the other in counseling.

Valerie Reiss, Director of Admissions

A 1988 Mother Guerin graduate, Mrs. Reiss returned to her alma mater in 2002 as the assistant to the assistant principal/dean of students.  She became the director of admissions in January 2004.  She is responsible for the recruitment and admission of new and transfer students to Guerin Prep.

Sister Norene Golly, Director of Campus Services

As director of campus services since 2001, Sister Norene coordinates the use of Guerin Prep High School.  Sister Norene began at Guerin in 1994 as secretary to the president, and staff member in the Office of Institutional Advancement.  After a long teaching career that began in 1953, including three assignments as principal or assistant principal, Sister Norene served in the development office at Providence-St. Mel School from 1982 to 1994. Sister Norene holds a master's degree in education from Indiana State University.  She has a B.A. from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
